- FARALLON Mining Ltd. (TSX: FAN), is a Canadian company with a Zinc-rich Polymetallic mine in Guerrero state, Mexico.
- Farallon achieved commercial production in March 2009 on a sustained basis at the full design capacity of 1,500 tons per day. Commercial production was announced as of April 1, 2009.
- Farallon has a mine plan that incorporates several areas of optimization primarily through the use of lower cost, open stoping mining methods. This plan was initiated with the objective of compiling the most economically robust plan possible, given the uncertain outlook for metal prices at this time, and is the basis for mine-planning going forward.
- Farallon's G-9 deposit should have an advantage over its peers now that it is in full commercial production as it has the potential to be a low-cost zinc producer that has the ability to weather the current downturn in metal prices.
- In this current market environment it is also important to focus on minimizing costs as much as possible in order to survive and prosper and the company is doing this in all areas of the company's activities. The significant zinc grades at the G-9 deposit should also enable Farallon to do so.
- Farallon's management is committed to maximizing the efficiencies at the G-9 mine and creating a world-class zinc company that will not only survive in the short-term, but prosper over the long-term with the value being passed on to the shareholders.
